Here is an imagined collage of chaffinches alighting on a giant fennel.

Ferrula communis lofted over April meadows surrounding the ruins of Artera in Crete, whilst in February I watched a charm of chaffinches tumbling over the raggedy sward beneath the Temple of Olympian Zeus in Athens.
